Finding purpose at work. Mine was always promotions, increased responsibility, and pay. And eventually retirement. I’ve noticed the workplace has changed though. It has become survival rules. There is competition to gain supervisor favor rather than focus on task. The rule of providing a fare days work no longer applies. And people dissatisfied with their job seem to find ways of making the workcenter harder. There may be that perfect secure employment out there somewhere where everyone gets along. For some it is mengling with the boss for hours while coworkers labor. My perfect job is long past now where I had projects to complete and people relied on and respected my work. Retirement is a long road. Enjoy being in demand while you can and try to consider your coworker is trying to survive too.
