Partners in Wellness Reborn
After Kate said goodbye to this blog, one of our other popular bloggers — Chato Stewart — had a suggestion. Could his wife pick up the reins of this blog and continue its mission and purpose?
I said sure thing!
So I’m pleased to introduce to you our newest blogger, Joan Winifred. Joan is an advocate for the underdog. A mother of four who is known in her world as a peaceful friend. Here at Psych Central, she is best known as Chato’s wife. Loving and living with the cartoonist behind MentalHealthHumor.com isn’t always funny. However, facing the serious side of her husband’s mental illness with a positive attitude is crucial to success.
With courage to care and love to share, she hopes to empower other caregivers to face their fears & break free from isolation. Together caregivers can cope, carry on and avoid burn-out!
As a reminder, Partners in Wellness is a blog to provide information and support to relationship partners and spouses who are in a marriage with someone who has a mental illness, such as depression, anxiety or bipolar disorder. Coping with someone who has a serious mental illness can often times be trying, difficult and stressful. This blog will deal with topics to help caregivers and partners learn to better communicate and improve their relationships with someone who has a mental health concern.
Please give Joan a warm Psych Central welcome!
