    Thank you for this article Margarita! I struggle with daily ruminations over when I’ll get exercise in, when I’ll get exercise in, when I’ll get exercise in, that those ruminations tend to remove the enjoyment I would normally get from exercise. Because of my thought process I tend to think more of exercise as a chore, as something I need to put on my to do list, and check off as complete.

    However, I have lived a long time without even being aware of this pattern of daily living. Even though right now I struggle with the way I think about exercise, I am at the very least aware of this painful rumination process, and am working with a therapist on unraveling it.

    Again, thank you for this article. Your writing has made an enormously positive impact on my life.

      @ Jen, thank you so much for your comment! It seriously made my day. I used to think the same way about exercise, and like I said in my post, it doesn’t help that our culture reinforces and perpetuates that line of thinking. We’re bombarded by it — websites, print, TV.

      That’s awesome that you’re working with a therapist and that you’re already aware of your thought process. That’s often the hardest step — recognizing thoughts that have become so automatic, not to mention going to see a therapist. You have a lot to be proud of.
