There is a quote, “I write because if I do not, I will die.”Oh, that is so true.I wrote for many years from high school on with the same characters. It was only recently that I discovered that it was my art therapy, my way of working out big changes in my life. Then came the realization that the main characters were my alter egos when I was discovered to have DID.I’m fairly well integrated now, but it is nice to have a guardian angel on my shoulder to help me through the rough spots.I have joined NaNoWriMo for the last three years. It is quite a challenge but it gets me writing. Otherwise, life gets in the way and frustrates me no end.But I work on some sort of writing every day, from comments to mentally planning out a story. It keeps me going.

@ Megalodon, thanks so much for sharing your experience. I’m glad to hear that you’re doing better now! It’s amazing how powerful writing can be for our lives. I’ve never tried NaNoWriMo, but that’s awesome that you’ve been doing it consistently for three years. Wow. That’s definitely a challenge.
