A positive body image goes beyond liking your looks. It encompasses taking good care of yourself and leading a fulfilling life. In this weekly series, I share some of my favorite posts from some of my favorite bloggers on this topic. Hope you find these links inspiring, too!

One of my favorite food blogs is Eat, Live, Run. This weekend I’m checking out Jenna’s soup recipes. Here, in Florida, if it gets down to 75 degrees, I suddenly have a craving for soup — which warms me right up. (I also like to eat soup in especially chilly air conditioning.) What foods nourish you during the fall?

You are here to pay attention. That is enough. This is beautiful, and an absolutely vital reminder when we’re stuck in thick, heavy layers of self-doubt and body bashing. When we’re unsatisfied with certain aspects of our lives.

What 10 things did you love about last month? Maybe you made strides in cultivating a more positive body image? Maybe you prepared a delicious meal, sat down and savored it? Maybe you saw a show you loved? Maybe you learned something interesting? Maybe you read a book that resonated with you? Maybe you faced a challenge?

I LOVE the idea of creating a to-be list from Tara Sophia Mohr:

  • In the evening or the morning – whenever you write your companion To Do List — take a few moments to write your To Be List.
  • Look over your calendar for the following day. Then ask yourself: What qualities do I want to embody as I move through these activities? How do I want to be as I move through this day, given its unique demands and opportunities?
  • Write down your answers, focusing on 3-5 qualities.
  • Put your list somewhere where you’ll see it during the day.

Try doing the same for building a positive body image or cultivating self-love. Maybe tomorrow you want to be more self-compassionate, understanding and present.
