Hi Sonia – I always consult your blog avidly to pick up your insights and latest viewpoints…I enjoyed and totally related to your last post about double daughterhood..where’s it going with your decision to end your meetings with your therapist now that you hae evolved out of a therapee relationship with her? Just wondering because clearly it’s a sort of love (but with payment)and how do you come to a decision on that kind of relationship which is somehow ‘special’ in being protected from the vagaries and injustices to which ordinary life is subjected? Thank you so much for your honesty and courage. I think you’ve helped a lot of people out there.
    all the best

    Hi Carol,
It was a difficult decision to make and is only a recent one. I tend to write now from the point of view of looking back over the bigger picture. Because I am working in the mental health industry I have to look after my own mental health and I can get triggered by others because of the nature of the work. We do still email though, which is great. She is also there if ever I need to go back.
