Today I love sweet summer days of sun and warmth and easy happiness. I love that there are things coming together here in the house so there is hope that two weeks might see things very close to being ready for the finishes to be applied. I love that I’m not sure whether to include the kitchen backsplash as a finish or a construction job, but I’ll likely decide that when I see which side of the two weeks it falls on. I love that we are still contemplating which tiles to choose for the backsplash. I love that the flooring has been chosen and I really should order that, eh? I love that the subfloor will be done this week though I’ve been dawdling at it, I love that the last of the wall patching will be well started this week too if I don’t slow down again. I love that the AC/Heat head was installed last Friday and works perfectly though I rarely turn on the AC. I love that I get to start every day, if I so choose, writing about the things I love, though I also love that I can put that writing off ’til later if there are things I really love that need doing or things that need doing that I’d really love to see done. I love that today is not one of those days.
Today I love that there are raisins and cinnamon in my oatmeal this week, though not enough cinnamon in my opinion, where did all that cinnamon that I had get to? I love that today is bread baking day. I love that yesterday we got bagels from the “Rise Again” Bagel baking organization that mysteriously gifts bagels to people and trades them for other things, bartered bagels and baked goods may well become the new post-pandemic currency. I love that if that happens I will have to bake more. I love that I could do that, I have a new kitchen. I love how things work out so well sometimes. I love that the stores have flour again.
Today I love that as soon as I’m done writing this post I’m heading into the kitchen to start some food for the rest of the day before I write my next post for my other blog. I love that I am due to write another post for another blog that I co-write with a group of local writers who all write so well.
Today I love drinking coffee and soaking up the summer sweetness like I’m being marinated in the sauce of a summer day or roasted au jus in the moderate oven of late June.
