Today I Love Diligence

Gardening in the sun

Today I love diligence, especially in people who are working on the same job I’m working on. I love that there are two gas fitters here trying to figure out how to install my cook top in the best possible manner so that we can use it. I love that they seem to be determined to succeed and to do so safely. I love that I will be sending my phone away today for repairs and hopefully that will be done quickly and I will have the camera function back soon. I love that I will still have messenger by wifi on my old phone so I won’t be completely out of touch. I love that in these isolating times we have managed to amass so much technology that we can use to keep us in touch with others. I love how much of this technology is actually available to me. I love that I am tired and feeling like I need a break and today is the beginning of a break of sorts for me because this week I intend to spend my days cleaning up before starting the next big push to complete the renovations here, that will be like a break and a rest I think. I love that my life seems to just work out so that whatever I need to do I can do and whatever I need to help me through is easily found within my reach, I’m a lucky person.

Today I love the brilliant day that has flooded in with the dawn and made this world so bright and cheerful. I love being alive on days like these, though I am aware that I love every day, but days like this with the sun shining boldly over everything and in every corner are just extra special for their cheeriness and graciousness. I love that there is gardening work to be done yet today, and that will get us outside and into that sun and help us feel like we are part of this big old world.

Today I love the possibility of a working cook top within a few hours or at least a few days. I love that I’ve waited so long for this that I’m okay with waiting longer if it proves to be as complicated as it is sounding. I love that there is a gas line leading to the cook top ow and all it needs is to be hooked up if they can find the right connectors, stay tuned.

Today I love sipping my coffee and planing my day of gardening in the sunshine and clearing materials out at the job site also known as home.

Today I Love Diligence

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live on the traditional lands of the Chippewas of Nawash in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or 7 generations and my First Nations friend's families go back hundreds of generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I am a freelance writer and I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about living with ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
