Today I Love Wispy Clouds

coffee in sunshine
It’s an amazing day

Today I love wispy clouds that drift across the sky in lazy fashion, calling to me to take it easy and just watch them slide on by. I love that the sky is blue and the sun is shining, and even though it is pretty chilly today I am happy that this day is so cheery in appearance. I love bright and happy looking days. I love that we are well stocked with so many things that might have been a problem, just because I often buy lots of something when it is a good deal. I love that we have gotten through the “hoarding” stage and now the things that others were worried about seem to be available again and we still aren’t out of anything that we’ve missed or needed. I love that our coffee comes from a company that has its own plantation and had a stock pile of beans and only roasts what they can sell so we get fresh roasted beans every other week and they are very good. I love that I may have mentioned that I am fond of coffee before. I love how well we are doing and that we are safe enough and happy enough that I can still find things to love every day. I love that loving so many parts of my life helps me be happy and contented.

Today I love that the porridge got made yesterday and I happily admit that it was made well though it was not done by me. I love that it has rhubarb and strawberries in it and I would not have attempted that but it worked out so well that I will certainly do it again when I am making porridge. I love that there is banana bread on the counter and it is pretty darned good stuff and I made that. I love that the 40% whole wheat bread I made is tasty enough that it is looking like it might run out soon and that means that the person who is less fond of bread in this household has found a bread that they are fonder of and that makes me happy. I love that I will obviously be making that again and possibly always now.

Today I love pears that are so ripe and sweet that they drip when eaten. I love that no pies were made yesterday because a bunch of renovation stuff got done instead. I love that pie may or may not get made today, we’re tossing around ideas for other stuff that freezes better than pies do. I love pies, but I really love frozen goodies that can be pulled out of the freezer like they were being materialized from a magicians hat with no more effort than opening a door and reaching in.

Today I love sipping coffee in the sun and trying to winnow down the options for this day into what we would like to try most.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live on the traditional lands of the Chippewas of Nawash in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or 7 generations and my First Nations friend's families go back hundreds of generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I am a freelance writer and I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about living with ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
