Today I Love Peas Being Planted

one garden bed
Here’s some garden

Today I love peas being planted even though there weren’t nearly enough peas to plant and now we have to get more pea seeds. I love that I made bread yesterday and it seems to have turned out all right again. I love that muffins were also made yesterday but not by me and I really love that they turned out great so that makes me happy that I didn’t make them ’cause I might have bombed the adventure and made duds. I love that someone on my quaranteam finished making a sweater and it is great and really cute and she and it make each other look good, she by making it look three dimensional and it by making her look happy. I love that we have eaten well these last two months without over eating and I love that I have not gained any weight even though I can totally eat five meals and binge watch eight hours of TV a day, any day of the week, if left to my own devices. I love that I can laugh at things like the fact that my phone has a tempered glass screen protector on it and is in a protective case that covers the entire body except for the camera lens and somehow while clipped to my pocket I managed to smash the glass that covers the camera lens and that made for an interesting lens flare effect. I love that I have cleared away the glass cover and exposed the lens and can at least take photos with that camera again, for now.

Today I love that food keeps getting made around here and the place smells wonderful every day from foods both exotic and comforting and some of them are both. I love that the new kitchen is not yet complete and it is already so much better than the old one for cooking in. I love that we can both be cooking two different things at once and not be in each other’s way, because it is laid out in a very useful way.

Today I love all the outdoor stuff we have done this past weekend. I love that there will be warmer weather for the next eight or so days. I love that I keep thinking of good things from my past when I let my mind wander, remembering soda in bottles and the smell of spring over melting snow. I love that these things make me hungry for lots more life and that I am still making good memories. I love keeping myself busy.

Today I love drinking coffee and reading old posts from the past about things done and words written and gardens planted, just like some of the planting we’ve done here.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live on the traditional lands of the Chippewas of Nawash in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or 7 generations and my First Nations friend's families go back hundreds of generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I am a freelance writer and I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about living with ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
