Today I love the rainbow in the closet that is made up of thirty years worth of paint from the various owners of our home. I love that we are finding colors we remember and others that we’ve never seen before. I love that we found a full can of the color that the master bedroom used to be and we’re contemplating doing the inside of the bunkie at the cottage with that. I love that one of the walls upstairs has a paint on it that we are thinking would look good on the two small stub walls in our new kitchen. I love that we watch renovation shows on a TV that sits in front of a wall that is only half finished, it lends an air of realism and credibility to the viewing. I love that we are quite settled in this mess of a house and we are comfortable with it as long as we keep working, no matter how slowly, on its eventual completion. I love that we are doing more than just the renovation, we are reorganizing and clearing hoarded things away and getting ready to make this place amazing even though it already was our favorite place to be. I love that we still have such fluid plans for finishing and yet such determination about some of the things we want it to include.
Today I love all the musicians who have been live streaming shows non-stop on social media and if I have already said that before than that’s just too bad because it’s worth mentioning a dozen more times yet. I love that the people I’ve known to be caring and demonstrative of their sincerity have proven themselves to be what they had seemed to be by stepping up and shouldering the burden of their work making people happy and comfortable despite the fact that they are all in the same situation we are in. I love my musical friends.
Today I Love the snow’s last few tries at covering the mess of mud that is Springs playful clothing of youth, before she puts on her frocks of green and florals. I love that we have our porch furniture cushions ready to go out when the weather is nice again. I love all the spring cleaning that we are doing though it has been mostly renovation reorganizing in spring. I love that life is what you see, but love is how you look. I love that I have been practicing looking with love for a long time now.
Today I love sipping coffee and contemplating whether I will get up and go or stay seated here for a while relaxing and letting the medication force the debate between do and do not. I love that I mostly choose “do.”
