Today I love new directions in life and how we live it. I love that Tom Thwaits is doing some Georgian Bay Roots episodes for us and that’s going to shake things up a bit. I love that we’ve decided that we may be a little bored with the way we’re living these days here at the blue castle and so we’re going to add a little bit of structure to our days, though it might not seem too rigid to some, since coffee in bed is the first order of business every danged day. I love that that isn’t a new thing, we’re not completely throwing out the old playbook, but coffee in bed will have its own set time and duration now. I love that I’m taking a break from baking today, unless I get really tempted by some recipe or other (my own recipe for cinnamon buns is still haunting my thoughts and dreams). I love the laughter that comes from pondering what day it really is, current popular theory is that it’s Tuesday, but I could be persuaded otherwise. I love that a bit of flooring work got done yesterday and once I’m done writing I plan to get started on some more. I love that we are steadily making decisions about the changes to things here and yet even when we decide on something we let that decision percolate while we isolate and sometimes we renovate the decision long before we renovate the actual thing we decided on.
Today I love that my mind has been spawning creative ideas and I may soon have to write or record something completely new. I love that I have the stuff to do just that here in my home, inspiration, time, equipment, the whole ball of wax (where did that saying even come from?) I love that I spend a lot of time moving my tools from one place to another, the comedy of the situation and the thought of how disorganized I must look to the casual observer makes me laugh, sometimes out loud.
Today I love that there is still pineapple bread left, though not much, and there are still cookies, though they look like they are in fear for their very existence too, and now there is fresh, homemade bread here in the house. I love that I have no cream cheese because I imagine that if I did I would end up making carrot cake with a very decadent cream cheese icing and that would likely end up getting eaten way too quickly by me.
Today I love sipping my coffee in the quiet kitchen where very little is getting done today other than meal prep and a bit of cleaning up.
