Today I love Home Concerts

©2020 David A. RobinsonToday I love home concerts on the internet. I love that we had breakfast with Matt Anderson, as in, we had breakfast while Matt Anderson serenaded us from my partner’s phone on our kitchen island. I love that Shawna Caspi will be playing at our house tomorrow afternoon in very much the same way, though we may just cast that to the TV for the full house concert show effect. I love that it almost seems like all the technological advances that have happened in my life were all to keep us sane during this very pandemic. I love that my new motto is “If you want to thank front line workers, dedicate your stay at home to them and then stay at home like a rock-star!!!” I love that I have lots of things to do here at home, that I was in the middle of making huge changes to our house and there are many of those changes and parts of those changes that I can keep working on. I love that if I get really bored I might try to reroute the plumbing that needs to be changed, but I’d have to be really bored to do that, I may be hard to keep occupied but I am not a fool. I love that I have now thought about it long enough to know that I will not reroute the plumbing.

Today I love that I asked people on Facebook to comment on a post of mine that requested the comments be in the form of fictitious diary entries about how bored they’d become being isolated in their homes and one of them was a lovely bit of imagination about building a homemade submarine and an underwater igloo posted by a friend who draws amazingly well and I told him I’d need a picture and he complied willingly and now you all get to benefit from that. I love all my creative friends and that I could not have managed such a wonderfully entertained life without them.

Today I love that we cleaned out the under-the-stairs closet and there is a lot of space in there. I love that discussions have now ensued regarding possible storage options for the parts that are under the landing and the lower stair areas. I love that we are considering putting in a back wall to that closet and making the rest of it drawers that open on the outside walls … but, maybe not. I love that I have some pretty fantastic ideas that are more fun to think up than they would be to execute.

Today I love drinking coffee here on day 72 in the submarine on my way to the igloo.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
