Today I Love Smart People

Soon there will be flowers

Today I love smart people like the ones who self isolate when they return from outside the country despite the problems it may cause them. I love that Shawna Caspi is taking a couple of weeks to work on things from home, I hope that wonderfully creative things come from this and that things work out well for her after having to cancel part of her tour and then find out she is requested to stay home when she was hoping to do some studio recording. I love that she is the person we see her to be, smart, caring, tough and strong. I love that I am going to play a song of hers on the radio this Sunday coming because she is also a great musician. I love that my contractor boss is not coming in to work this morning because he is feeling a little off and wants to make sure it’s nothing before he returns to the job site. I love that my old boss is working for me these few weeks while we rearrange the house and make the kitchen better. I love that I’m fully prepared to fire him if he doesn’t do as he’s told and yet he still only does what he knows to be the right thing and will quit before he will compromise a job, he’s pretty stubborn that way, no wonder we always bicker and fight.

Today I love that there is lots of fresh food in this house, though not so much that anyone could call it hoarding. I love that we are managing quite well, thank you very much, with about half a kitchen. I love that we have been resourceful in our culinary efforts and have not compromised our standard of healthy eating while this has been going on. I love that I discovered where the leak in the bathroom floor was and now we can fix it before it comes through to the main floor, yay!

Today I Love cold cereal warmed up on a cold day. I love that my plan is to make more porridge today sometime and that will last us a week and get us to the next weekend. Today I love that flowers sprang, unbidden into my imagination and when I questioned that my imagination replied that it won’t be long until they are here again for real and now I’m looking forward to that day and also looking around already to make sure I don’t miss it happening. I love flowers, what a wonderful way to live a complete and full life, be beautiful, attract attention, then replicate, hmmm, must be spring.

Today I love drinking coffee and making plans on how to tackle this day and its many tasks, I think I’ll start with another cup of coffee first.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
