Today I Love Finding Hope

Today I love finding hope in the determination of others and their words of passion and planning. I love that social media is full of positivity, even though it is somewhat overwhelming at times. I love that some of it is almost silly to consider but it is proof of intent and witness to determination and I will not dismiss it for any reason. I love how powerful people and their spirits can be, not setting down the conflict and walking away from it but finding new hope and new direction daily. I love that folks are often finding new drive to keep doing the things in their lives that isolation cannot stop. I love that we are not arrogant in our resolve yet neither are we complacent and ready to give in. I love that many of us are determined to do the right thing despite the fact that we don’t all have the right knowledge of what that thing is. I love that I am determined to survive here in my area by staying in my area and in my home or my cottage, both of which are here in this area and both of which contain only us. I love that I will survive, I am determined to. I love that I intend to support my partner to the best of my ability while she offers her abilities as a health care professional when her particular abilities are needed.

Today I love that there is more work to be done here in the house, some plumbing to be moved, some modification of a wall, a radio show segment to be created, more stuff to be moved around and a sub floor to be extended toward its final limits of the entire downstairs. I love that our plans have changed a bit but the final plans are still in place, even if some of the details are still in limbo. I love that we intend to put in one floor choice for the entire downstairs, but right now we’re thinking floor paint and wait, just to put the labor intensive part off until there is a break in the current tensions, and we’ll concentrate on the needed stuff for now.

Today I love Shredded Wheat for breakfast. I love that we’re still looking at ways to organize stuff in out new kitchen space. I love that we have been able to remain functional in our house for the most part and it can only get better from here on.

Today I love coffee while I write and writing while I think and thinking while I work and working while I dream and dreaming while I make coffee.

Today I Love Finding Hope

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
