Today I Love This Sunny Day

sunshiny day
That sun, just streaming in …

Today I love this sunny day where we had to open the back windows of the truck out on the road when we were delivering furniture because it got too hot in the cab. I love that we got to stop in at the cottage and check it out today and it was heart achingly hard to leave it again with its beautiful views of water and sky and trees and its laughing sound of the happy chuckling brook bubbling happily through the trees on its way from the escarpment to the bay. I love that we’ve gotten lots done this weekend, that we’ve eaten well, that we’ve made preliminary plans for a get together with friends and it sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun as it is a gloves off, throw down, all out cooking competition to see who can survive eating all the good food that we and our friends are all well aware that we are capable of creating. I love when we get together with friends, even if I tend to overwhelm many of our friends with conversation that jumps around and seems to never stop. I love that they all seem okay with that … so far. I love making plans to be part of my community and to have my community be part of my life.

Today I love that there might be a chance that I’ll get out into my garage and finish up that crate project I started a little while ago. I love that we are constantly working on organizing our home and reclaiming space we have filled with things we feel attached to but aren’t really using. I love that there is no question ever when it comes to possessions of sentimental value as to whether we keep them or not. I love that we have issues deciding what the limits of sentimentality are so we always err on the side of keeping things. I love that I have been able to let some things go recently though nowhere near enough things of mine have gone.

Today I love fruit and maple syrup on reheated, leftover waffles for breakfast, wow those were as good today as they were yesterday as far as I’m concerned. I love how many decisions we have made about out new kitchen cupboards. I love that I gambled on the snow in the drive, didn’t blow it, didn’t shovel it, and now it has melted, I’m pretty smart, eh? I love my life and how I work so hard to make things work out so that there are things I can find to love all the time.

Today I Love drinking my coffee while absorbing the beauty of this beautiful, sunny, sunny day.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
