Today I Love People Who Care About Me

step count on watch and cup of coffee
Stepping towards my goals

Today I love people who care about me and show it in subtle ways. I love that the contractor isn’t coming today because he has a sore throat and doesn’t want to give it to me right now. I love that someone in this house thinks that I should have at least one more day of rest before I start back in to the things I normally do. I love all the messages I’ve been getting in so many different ways from so many different people, thanks, everyone, for the love you’re sharing. I love that every now and then I wonder why having stents put in would make my shoulders and back ache so much and then I remember that I fell on Saturday and then I wonder at how old I’m getting and then I laugh at myself again. I love that I find myself so amusing, it’s like being in the wings at a good comedy show that is mostly good because it’s just so obviously simple. I love that fast puns make me laugh on the inside where most of my laughter occurs, thanks for last night, Jon. I love that someone in this house seems to have the ability to make me laugh more than any other person and I really love that her making me laugh seems to make her happy too. I love that I have no medical restrictions on how much laughing I’m allowed to do.

Today I love that I am allowed to type with both hands. I love that I can drive again. I love that I have no place to go today. I love that I intend to make my step count goal because I’ve missed the last two days and those are the first days I’ve missed in a long time. I love that I have had some really good meals in the last couple of days from some really good places, they maybe weren’t the healthiest ones I could have chosen but they were also far from being unhealthy and they were very tasty. I love that looking after ones life is as important as looking after ones health.

Today I love that I have porridge to make and a decision to make on what I’ll put into it for fruit. I love that I am going to pack up a bunch of stuff to start clearing out the room that will become the kitchen soon. I love that there are lots of boxes for that out in the garage, I’ve been hoarding a few. I love that I am almost done writing for the day, and once I have my radio show together for this weekend I’ll be coasting and doing odd jobs like that packing here at the casa.

Today I love relaxing with a cup of coffee while I write and making plans to acquire my needed steps leisurely.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
