Today I Love Tactical Clip-Ons

Blocking the blue

Today I love tactical clip-ons that block the scattered blue light and make it easier to see in snowy and foggy conditions. I love that they can be used at night or in the day time. I love that we have two pairs of them in the car so that we can both see as well as possible when we are on the road in less than optimal conditions. I love that we are on the road once again and although the weather is not perfect we are confident and sure of our abilities and we will get where we are going if that’s what is supposed to happen, and I can’t imagine that it isn’t what’s supposed to happen. I love that once again we are taking turns driving and I get to write for the first leg of the journey. I love my wristers for writing in the car because they keep my hands warm and my fingers free, and my only regret is that I left one of them at home so I am looking forward to getting home and putting them back on. I love that they were made for me with love and given to me for Christmas. I love that a group of eight glass pandas who were scheduled to get to our place for Christmas finally showed up at our house and from this I can only surmise that pandas, while being quite cute, are not known for punctuality.

Today I love people with heart. I love that hearts are held in such high regard for their being the origin of love. I love that my heart is so strong in that regard. I love that this heart of mine is almost ready to celebrate another of my birthdays, but what I really love is that before my birth my heart had already started beating inside my mother and so I know it has had the best beginning and must be of superior character and quality.

Today I love raisins and cinnamon in my oatmeal. I love feeling confident in my abilities. I love scenes of trees in winter, stark white land and silver white skies filled with snow ready to fall and black, stark, silhouetted forms of trunks and branches waiting for the golden green of spring leaves to return. I love that we are so close to Spring and Summer because they are the exact opposite of this time of year and this time of year is one year away from this same time coming again, where as Summer is only half that time away by contrast, like the contrast of trees in snowy scenes.

Today I love that it is almost my turn to drive and I’ve got my coffee and my tacticals ready for the road.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live on the traditional lands of the Chippewas of Nawash in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or 7 generations and my First Nations friend's families go back hundreds of generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I am a freelance writer and I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about living with ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
