Today I Love This Drifting Sky

blue sky with small clouds
A beautiful day

Today I love this drifting sky, these sunlit clouds, that fired eastern brilliance that is washing over this world of white. I love that the contestant on “Quiz of the bumble bee” on Classical FM got all ten questions right this morning in under a minute. I love that I figured out that it’s because my radio show is prerecorded that I never get any contestants calling in when I try to run a contest. I love that I haven’t given up on running a contest somehow, it just won’t likely be a phone in one. I love that I’m making myself smile a lot right now and even giggle a little bit. I love that I’ve gotten a few compliments on my radio show and that makes me happy, I wouldn’t want to be taking up air time if no one was enjoying it. I love that I sometimes listen to up to four different stations in any one day and they all play different types of music. I love having the radio on and I really love that when I’m too lazy to get up from my work and go turn it on I can just stream any one of those stations I listen to on my computer. I love that I recorded my radio peeps and me on Sunday when we were on the air for the charity broadcast.

Today I love that I got to attend the Ladies night “Bring A Friend” thing last night and hang out with some of the best people on ice. I love that I got to help with some of the teaching stuff for the ones that hadn’t curled before or hadn’t curled in a long time. I love that they got such a good crowd out that they were able to fill three sheets of ice fully and I got to coach a little bit and continue to give pointers.

Today I love that there is a big list of things to do and that means lots of opportunity to feel accomplished. I love that there’s laundry on the go and soup on the go and writing getting done and errands to be run when I need a break from sitting at my desk. I love that I’m contemplating a drive to the cottage this week to check on things there and grab my sander for a project I’m working on here. I love that it is finally December and soon it will be the start of Winter’s silver era, and then in twelve more weeks it will be Spring, just fifteen weeks to go from now.

Today I love drinking coffee and getting myself charged up while the soup simmers on the stove and those beautiful clouds drift by the window, peeking in to see how things are going.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live on the traditional lands of the Chippewas of Nawash in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or 7 generations and my First Nations friend's families go back hundreds of generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I am a freelance writer and I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about living with ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
