Today I love Fire In The Eastern Sky

The predawn sky out on the road
Eastern fire

Today I love fire in the eastern sky in the early morning as we charge out over the roads and make our way through the countryside. I love early morning road trips and the cozy feeling of being a team out there in the secret, lonely dark of the predawn when the sky seems to light up just for us and the few other travelers that we share the road with. I love that there was only a few bad drivers out there today and a couple of them suffered near instant karma, and I really love that no one got hurt or had an accident that we saw, ’cause we’re all on the road together and that makes us kind of family … even the bad ones. I love that so many plans keep coming up and although we don’t commit to most of them, the bulk of them are really fun to dream about and those of them that we have committed to have always been rewarding in ways both expected and unexpected. I love that we are pondering plans right now that are scary big, but good big as well and they would be wonderful if we went for them, but they will also be wonderful even if they remain just dreams. I love dreams, they’re like memories you didn’t have to work at making.

Today I love that it is Tuesday and that Tuesday is laundry day and that yesterday I got caught up on today’s laundry so I get to take laundry day off. I love that I’m good either way, let the laundry rumble away, making the house feel cozy and functioning, or get it done in advance and enjoy the quiet, I can’t lose. I love clean clothes and I really love when they smell fresh from drying outdoors on the line. I love that we have a clothesline now, possibly the best small project result that came out of this summer past. I love when things get done with little more than a few minutes of effort and then I realize how great the changes those things made are. I love little things like clotheslines.

Today I love that I get to play music on the radio. I love that I get to write things for people to read. I love that I get to wander around and photograph stuff for people to see, I love that I get to take really badly written news and media releases and make them readable and then publish them. I love that I get to have an influence on the world’s access to information and entertainment. I love that I get to enjoy that information and entertainment also.

Today I love drinking coffee out of my moose can on the road driving while the eastern sky lights up with the nuclear fire of the sun.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
