Today I love that it is finally Friday and it seems like it took forever to get here. I love that this is the first week that this household has worked five days straight in a long, long time and we managed to survive. I love that we most certainly felt the effects of a short weekend at the beginning of the week but we got ourselves up and over that and are now coasting into the weekend. I love that I have all kinds of odd jobs to do today from loading and hauling to posting and writing, and some packing of stuff for the weekend, and hitching up my trailer and maybe fixing up the cottage shed a little if I have time. I love being busy, though I must admit that as I get older I’m quite happy to be busy in my recliner doing all the heavy lifting online some days. I love that I am sitting on the front porch and realizing that I forgot to cut the lawn at home yesterday and now that I think about it I completely forgot to unload the lawn mower out of the back of the truck, so I guess I have that to do yet, ha ha.
Today I love that yesterday I thought my clothesline elevator was clunking all afternoon but I couldn’t find anything wrong with it until the third time I went to look and discovered that it was my neighbor’s gate swinging so I fixed that by closing and latching their gate, I’m good. 😉 I love that this morning I thought our down pipe might be leaking because I could hear a loud drip, drip, drip sound and when I went to check I discovered … my neighbor’s down pipe had fallen apart, so I went and got my screwdriver and put it back together. I love that my neighbor has some pretty small problems for me to deal with and that they’re good people.
Today I love looking forward to going out again in the kayaks this weekend. I love being on the water and I missed that this week with the dragon boat being out of the water. I love that the weekend cottage schedule is full of things to do, and I hope to get a few extra things crossed off my own list as well. I love puttering around the cottage even if my pace makes it hard for others to recognize what I’m doing as puttering.
Today I love sitting on the front porch, taking care of my writing, and soaking in the joy and weekend anticipation of this long coming Friday.
