Today I Love My Questionable Sense Of Humor

Thinking fuel …

Today I love my questionable sense of humor. I love that I find it funny that I tell people I am bilingual and when they ask what my second language is I tell them it’s American. I love that I argue seriously that it is far harder to write in two languages that are almost identical like Canadian and American and I really love that almost no one ever says, “But they’re both English??” I love that when I am done writing my blog posts for the day I will begin writing other things for Canadian consumption and they will be full of endevours and be directed at neighbours who will read those words without flinching and they’ll make it worth my while by writing me a cheque and life will go on in that Canadian manner. I love that a friend wore a T-Rex costume to the dragon boat last night and I kind of wanted to wear it to steer the boat but was concerned that it might not be safe, I was worried that I might need to do something that required me to not be short handed. 😉 I love that there were pictures, but sadly I did not take any of them or I would share with you all here, but to prove the verity of my statement … Here!

Today I love that I am swamped with work and all of it is good work. I have writing and radio show work and TV show work and online news paper work to do. I love that my life seems to get busier whenever I think about taking it easy. I love that I have learned to do so many things in my life and am still learning. I love that I have that in common with my father to some extent, he had so many hobbies in his life.

Today I love that it is finally Friday and that I don’t have an open mic to host and I don’t have curling to go to and that we may go to a show or a movie depending on how we are feeling, but that there is a really good chance that we will likely take the opportunity to just relax and rest at home. I love that I have no idea what we’re going to eat tonight but that I know we won’t starve because we have so many left over desserts in the fridge and a few things that are actually not dessert food as well. I love the blooming of a fresh weekend, bring it on!

Today I love sipping coffee and writing in American.

Today I Love My Questionable Sense Of Humor

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live on the traditional lands of the Chippewas of Nawash in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or 7 generations and my First Nations friend's families go back hundreds of generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I am a freelance writer and I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about living with ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
