Today I love all the work that’s been done this week here at home and at the park where the festival will be. I love that I did some of that work and that some of it got done by good and determined people. I love that my crew and my home are filled with that very type of people, good, and determined, and that i get to spend time with them. I love that Summerfolk is right on schedule and if I weren’t worried about causing other people who worry about such things to worry about jinxing the whole deal I might even say we’re ahead of schedule, but I do worry about them worrying so I won’t say that. I love that two of my tasks yesterday at the park were cancelled just as I was about to do them and so I asked my supervisor if there was anything else I might almost do and he laughed which is good because his job is pretty stressful right now. I love the list of things I have to do today just to get me to the park and I’m working on them hard. I love that I have reached that point in the Summerfolk Construction week where I decide that, no matter what doesn’t get done, I can live with it. I love that I am doing my last load of laundry until next week. I love that I still have clean Summerfolk volunteer shirts to wear, and prolly enough of them to get me through tear down.
Today I love that we found out that we, the hosts of the Summerfolk weekly radio show, will be on the main stage around five o’clock on Sunday afternoon between acts, and we’ll be singing and talking while the stage crew shifts stuff around and sets up the next act.I love that we get to actually see some of the people who listen to us while we are talking to them for a change and they get to see us. I love the radio show and I love Summerfolk and I love getting to be a part of both of them.
Today I love that there will be food vendors that will be quietly calling to me from four thirty this afternoon on. I love that one of the many jobs I have is to clean out the back of the truck and stuff our spare mattress in there for naps over the weekend. I love the third weekend of August because it’s all about the music.
Today I love drinking coffee while I ponder the big mess of tools and stuff in the back seat of my truck.
