Today I love getting things done, dragging out old tools and making them go like they always did, fixing things that I use regularly, or at least used to use regularly, and using them again around the house instead of on jobs out in the world. I love that my tools are sometimes the lowest and cheapest substitutes but that anything that is like that in my collection works well or hits the road. I love that though I am frugal, I am fussy about the results and so I don’t put up with things that don’t do the job properly. I love that I walk that thin line and sometimes it feels like I’m walking two lines and jumping back and forth from one to the other, but I’m good at it so I’ll keep doing that. I love that so much stuff is getting done around here, gardens planted and earth moved and water barrels getting set up and still we have time to visit with people like my father yesterday for Fathers’ Day. I love that the sun is keeping me warm while i work in the yard in the cool morning air. I love working outside, no matter what I’m doing, building, fixing, writing.
Today I love how the flavor of my Mondays has changed in recent times, love that it is now more of a day off than a day of work, though I still work. I love that my life and my world are weird and wonderful things in which days can be days off that I work through or days of work that I spend in a relaxed manner, recharging and rejuvenating. I love that i have been given all these days that I’ve experienced so far in my life and that even though I have wasted many of them in the past I am still receiving more of them. I love that karma seems to be a lenient mistress.
Today I love chive omelettes with orange peppers, mushrooms, and onion. I love eating lunch outside in the sweet sun after having enjoyed breakfast in the same way. I love that I have a few extra chores to do and that they arrive in my inbox at random times and keep me hopping. I love that I am able to do so many things that I hardly ever get bored in my life.
Today I love drinking coffee out in the driveway while I work on setting up those new rain barrels.
