Today I Love That Beautiful Blue

blue sky
Truly blue!

Today I love that beautiful blue of the sky above. I love that the sky changes from one day to the next and even from one end of the day to the other. I love that this day’s sky is such a rich blue that it makes me feel very lucky to have the opportunity to see it. I love that I have yet another day to add to my collection of days and that this one promises to be as good as any I’ve encountered when it comes to potential and ability for adventure and fun. I love that when I got to my Wednesday office this morning I almost did not want to come in and I had to promise myself that I would work hard and get done and then take some time to wander and soak up the day and the season and the flavor of this shoreline town. I love that I often get to wander at will and find my peace of mind in the scenes I see and the places that invite me to visit. I love how full my life has ended up being. I love my world and I love my place in it, love that I fit in here because I am exactly the same shape as the space that i occupy in it.

Today I love that the coming weekend is filling up with plans and activities. I love that we very often own our weekends passionately and when we don’t it is because we choose to let them slide by gently to where ever unowned weekends go. I love that weekends are friends of mine, that they share themselves willingly with me and my household and our friends. I love the infinite possibilities that exist for putting weekend things together with new things that may become weekend things in the future. I love that no two weekends are the same and yet they all have so much in common and that stuff they have in common is usually good.

Today I love strawberries in oatmeal. I love renovation ideas. I love that yesterday I put up a clothesline and had a great lunch with good friends. I love that I own a truck and that it comes in handy when stuff needs to be someplace that it isn’t. I love that people wander around in short sleeves on mornings when frost had to be scraped from windshields because they know the day will arm up and they want the world to know that they appreciate that and are supporting its efforts to make the day a pleasant one.

Today I love drinking coffee in my Wednesday office with the beautiful blue sky coloring my Wednesday thoughts in with happy hues.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
