Today I love Spring flowers popping up all over the place. I love that I am sitting out on the front porch writing my posts for the second day in a row. I love that the day smells just a little bit like rain and that’s in the forecast, so it’s a fair bet it’s going to get wet today. I love that I walked over a mile this morning just after breakfast and I hope to do that a couple more times today. I love that we slept with the windows open last night even though it went down to 11 degrees, but that 11 degrees was a Canadian 11 so fear not my friends, it was actually 52°F and it was lovely. I love that every ten minutes or so the rain splatters down coarsely for two minutes as if it is testing itself, it’s timing, and its release mechanism before the big rain comes. I love that I am happy in my seat watching the world go by. I love seeing my neighbors rolling off to work and school and worrying about being late or forgetting something and knowing that they will get it all together eventually and find their own way to enjoy the days and weeks of their lives. I love this front porch and the way it welcomes me in the mornings and lets me sit here quietly forming thoughts and putting them into words. I love that I have things to do, but for now this spot is my sanctuary and I will enjoy it as much as I can.
Today I love how the yard got some attention yesterday and the house did too. I love that we had good friends over for supper last night and we followed that up with music and knitting but we broke up into groups for that because no one wants to see musical knitting, although now that I’ve contemplated that, I kind of do want to see it some day. Oh well, maybe next time, eh? I love that I am achy and sore from my labors, even though I really shouldn’t be. I love that the lawn still looks like it needs some attention because that means when it gets that attention it’s going to look fabulous.
Today I love great strawberry rhubarb pie with ice cream. I love that I will likely have to make bread today. I love wearing sneakers instead of spring boots. I love oranges. I love when I remember some song from years ago and the lyrics come to me and I sing them and then have to go find the song on youtube and play it for people.
Today I love drinking coffee on the front porch while I write and all the flowers start coming up around me.
