Today I love post income tax brain, that foggy, hazy feeling that there might have been something I forgot to claim or report but since I’m done and it all looked reasonably okay I’m gonna just hope it blends in with all the other tax returns. I love that my head is still kind of spinning from the ridiculously unhelpful software we used this year, it’s kind of like, “I got my taxes done and a bit of a buzz.” I love that even though I slept well last night I’m exhausted today and I can’t figure out why other than that it is mental exhaustion, but it will be a perfect excuse for a nap later on, so I’m going with it. I love when I can grab a nap in the afternoon, because usually I cannot sleep in the daytime, I will lie down yawning and sleepy and be wide awake in five minutes without ever having closed my eyes. I love that the daytime temperatures are always above freezing now and the overnight lows are almost always above freezing. I love that Spring is coming to the halfway point in a week or so and so far it has done its job perfectly. I love that yesterday we walked over six kilometers in total and had Dim Sum along the way, an adventure of the best kind.
Today I love that I did yoga last night for the first time in a few months and I think it helped me sleep better.I love that we had such a great time at Dim Sum with friends and people we didn’t know before yesterday and I really love that it is going to happen again late next month. I love when we talk things through before making a decision even when we already know what the best option is, because on the rare occasions when we’ve changed our minds it has always been worth it and every other time it left us more sure of our decisions.
Today I love that I believe that people who pass on arrive at the perfect heaven for themselves. I love that mine might well be getting to be a boy in a small village, perpetually growing up for eternity, running through the fields and woodlands, riding horses and wearing ragged cut-off jeans and going bare foot, eating sweet strawberries fresh off the plant and watching from a barn door as the rain falls with sunlight slanting through it from the west. Safe home, Jim.
Today I love sipping coffee while the Canada Revenue Agency struggles with all our interpretations of their income tax guide.
