Today I Love Waiting For Daybreak

Today I love waiting for daybreak. I love rumbling around the house in the dark before dawn, sipping my coffee in the great room, getting my day started, slowly getting up to speed on the happenings of the world, easing gently down into this day. I love that there are always people up and about in the early morning, and I love social media for making us available to each other when we are on the go this early. I love early March mornings, I love to see how early the dawn is getting to be, I love to get my bearings with regards to the length of the day just before the change to daylight savings time happens. I love that there are only six days ’til daylight savings time. I love that the high temperatures are soon going to be regularly above freezing again and that the currently forecasted high on the day we turn our clocks ahead is plus six here in Canada which translates to 43°. I love that there are only seventeen days ’til Spring arrives, and that is always a lovely thing. I love that we are on our way to the time when people grumble about the winter in past tense, that always seems a little less … sad.

Today I love how easy it is to miss a place. I love that I long to return to so many places I have spent time in, and how the thing that keeps me from many of those is that I would miss being home just as much. I love that the cottage is like another home.  I love how when we go there I feel like it’s just part of home and I fall easily into being there but when we go to leave I start regretting having taken my time there for granted. I love that I say goodbye to the cottage when we leave it.

Today I love that the oatmeal has coconut and strawberries in it because I didn’t get any pineapple and because who knew that coconut and strawberries was a possible porridge flavor. I love that even making oatmeal has become an adventure in my life. I love that travel is again being discussed here at the casa and though the destination is still up in the air there are destinations being tossed around. I love long range adventure plans.

Today I love drinking coffee in the light of the day that has now arrived and eased me out of the darkness.

Today I Love Waiting For Daybreak

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
