Today I love pondering potential changes and considering contingency plans for various outcomes. I love that we are comfortable and happy and yet we are willing to look to changes in the future that might mean seeking new comforts and new happinesses. I love that these are the adventures that even just the pondering of brings excitement to life. I love the way this world brings opportunities for contemplation and action, consideration and acceptance, decisions and dealings and doings. I love my life and the myriad things that stud its glossy surface with glittering gems of fortune and fantasy and reality all at once. I love that I will be hopelessly regretting whatever decision we make this week, but that I will also be overjoyed at the result. I love this city and I love all the places in it that make me happy and bring me joy. I love that some of those places are old and refined and some are new and exciting and that I have no qualms about bouncing from one side of that spectrum to the other and then back again. I love that there are people in this city that somehow manage to make me feel the joy of both those things, young people who fit into the places of tradition and older people my age who embrace the new and modern, and people in between who bridge both of these combinations with the wisdom and vigor that is so becoming to them.
Today I love that tonight we curl. I love that this is the preliminary game of the playoffs for my first winning team and that I will get to play another preliminary game with my second winning team on Wednesday. I love that, win or lose, we are going to have fun, and that is the only reason we are heading out to the club tonight. I love that I am relaxed because we already won what I wanted, a chance to play another game.
Today I love green tea with ginger. I love samosa filling that sneaks up on you after a moment or two and says, “Oh, by the way, I’m bringing the heat.” I love that there are plans for so much stuff this week. I love that next weekend is a travel, compete, adventure weekend that will see us enjoying life at liberty in another city. I love adventures that take me out of my comfort zone because that will either expand my comfort zone or make me happy to return to it.
Today I love drinking coffee in the comfort of our happy home, where home is defined not by a place but by the people … and the food that is prepared therein.
