Today I love more curling. I love that last night my team had a chance to win the third draw, the last round of the season at our club, and that we played well and had a lot of fun. I love that we ended up winning but the reason I love that is that we get to go on into the first round of the playoffs and that means we get to curl some more. I love that there is the slimmest of chances that, since my second draw team won the second round, I might have to play against myself. I love that there’s little hope of that happening because first, my teams would have to beat the Wednesday night champs from those same second and third rounds, and that is highly unlikely, but we do get to curl against them in this first playoff round and that will be so much fun. I love that in the very unlikely event that my two teams end up playing against each other my amazing partner will step in and take over one of my teams and she has already beaten me badly this season at least once, so one of my teams will be lucky and the other one will have me. I love that I get to spend the very end of Winter on the ice doing something I enjoy so much.
Today I love that this is the last weekend of this Winter. I love that this coming week is split between Winter and Spring, the hand off of the baton from one season to the next, and on we go. I love that time moving forward might feel to some like we’re spending it and thus we have less, but I refuse to accept that and am determined to grab all the time I can and firmly believe that living life fully is more important and also may keep me healthier and make me last longer so that I get more time, like interest on a savings account … one that the bank can’t charge service charges on.
Today I love breakfast at the Owen Sound Farmers’ Market, plans to head to the cottage, plans to cook and enjoy the solitude and quiet. I love that the bigger signs of spring are showing, the plans for an icebreaker to visit our bay, maple syrup events, people in shorts even when it’s snowing.
Today I love drinking coffee while I watch more curling and write about the things I love.
