Today I Love Healthcare

cup of coffee on the road
Coffee on the road is always good …

Today I Love healthcare in Canada and the fact that I am on my way to feeling better than I have for a while now. I love road trips with determination and improvement as the overriding watchwords of the drive. I love that the weather today is supposed to be variable with a bit of everything possible, some cloud, some snow, some sun, and that’s the way I like my weather when I’m in the middle of it, a constant reminder of how wonderfully diverse this world can be in every aspect of its being from its weather and terrain to its inhabitants, flora and fauna. I love this big old world and it’s way of always turning, always changing, always cycling through all the things I love, seasons and activities, the comings and goings of animals as the days lengthen and shorten and then lengthen again. I love that soon there will be flowers blooming and even more birds singing. I love the calls of the cardinal and the jay, the raven and the chickadee, but I’m longing to hear the songs of the robins and the finches and wrens. I love that I am making plans for golf in the end of May.

Today I love the support of my family. I love that I am surrounded by friends. I love that I work at things I enjoy and I love that work is good. I love finding new things to do, new ways to make work interesting, new ideas to make it fresh, and new jobs to keep me going. I love that I am happy with this life of mysteries and joys. I love that I am happy with myself and who I am. I love that I am always ready to meet every day and make things better in any way that I can. I love that making one thing better has far reaching effects and ramifications.

Today I love the rumble of the road beneath our wheels. I love the quiet of the morning when I’m up early because there’s a job to do or a place to be. I love looking after my family and that sometimes that means looking after me. I love fresh, cold air and the way it tastes when I breathe it deep into my lungs and, being present in the moment, really taste it and savor it. I love this life with all my heart.

Today I love drinking coffee on the road while I head out to take care of what needs to be taken care of.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
