Today I Love A Perfect Storm Of Curling

Snow to go!

Today I love a perfect storm of curling. I love that we were called in to spare last night and I’m going to spare again tonight and tomorrow night is our regular curling night and then we’re playing in a fun spiel on Saturday. I love how every team is different and every sheet of ice has its own peculiarities and that it changes from the start of the game to the end so it really doesn’t matter how good  we all are because anything can happen. I love that I get to play this game. I love going down the rabbit hole of curling history and how the game was developed. I love that I love so many things in my life and then a chance to go curling comes along and I’m all like, “Yeah, I’ll do that!” and I’m dropping things from my schedule and heading off to the club to hurl rocks down a sheet of ice and hope that they do what we want them to do … and I love that I’m not that good at it but I just can’t stop. I love that I understand a lot of the game, how it’s played and how it works and yet that does not translate to me being able to make it work well. I love that, like golf, you come home from a game remembering the one or two good shots, but not all the other bad shots you made.

Today I love that I have a lot of things to do and I doubt I’ll get them all done but I will get enough of them finished and be happy and content. I love that there is baking to do and supper needs to be gotten together and there’s snow to move and laundry to do. I love that I missed laundry day on Tuesday because I had things going on and now look, here’s a Thursday that’s all happily volunteering to host laundry day to help me get caught up and caught up is what I shall get.

Today I love how quickly my new phone charges on its wireless charger. I love that it takes one look at me and unlocks itself under some pretty demanding conditions. I love that there is joy in my world and it is shared by friends and neighbors and that means it’s always nearby for me to share in as well. I love that today is St, Valentine’s Day and I love that K.B. <3 N.H.!

Today I love drinking coffee while I listen to the rumble of the laundry and get myself ready to go blow snow.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
