Today I Love Slow Starts

banana bread and coffee
Mmmmm, coffee!

Today I love slow starts to easy days. I love moving at a steady pace when things need doing. I love that I can take the time to converse with people while I work. I love that I’m a part of my community and that it saves a space for me even when I’m so busy it almost seems like I just get to watch from the sidelines. I love that when ever I feel that way I remind myself that I am part of the community and that means the things I am doing are part of it too, they are community things. I love that this is my community, here online and here in the real world, where ever I am, I am home. I love that I have errands to run today that will take me around town. I love that I am going to try to make it to the Open Mic even though it isn’t my turn to host today. I love that it is Friday and that means curling tonight. I love that I am playing against my favorite team and that after the game my favorite skip and I will probably talk about the game we played against each other well into the late night.

Today I love that the weekend begins right …. now! I love that I now have to get all these things done in order to enjoy what’s left of my weekend. šŸ˜‰ I love that I can joke about time, love that I’ve lived enough of it to know that it holds no threat for me anymore. I love that time is all I ever had and it’s still my time and always will be. I love that this is my time and that it is your time too. I love that as soon as a person sees how true that is they often start living in love. I love that I can tell you sincerely to waste not one more minute thinking that this is not your time or that there is no love in your life, love yourself and then look around for other things to love … things like curling on Friday.

Today I love toast and jam. I love banana bread and coffee. I love that the tree is still up and decorated and that won’t change this weekend I guarantee it. I love that I am psyching myself up to go to the library and not check out anything more today, ’cause I still have lots to get through.

Today I love drinking coffee and nibbling on delicious banana bread.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
