Today I love Saturdays of serendipity and peace. I love when we ease into a day knowing what we want to do and just arrange each part of our day to facilitate those things getting done smoothly and with fun and laughter. I love that this day is rolling along like it’s a wagon on a gentle downhill slope. I love remembering wagon rides. I love memories of my life on the farm and the wonderful things that happened there that could not have happened anywhere else. I love thinking about cold winter mornings and staying close to the fire, breakfast under a blanket by the wood stove, plans to go sledding that would take most of a day, the outdoor fire after the sledding by the sled hill where we would make tea and heat cans of stew and beans. I love that back then it was nothing to walk for miles in the chilly cold just to slide down a hill on an old toboggan. I love the thoughts of going sledding again and I might just do that this year at the cottage.
Today I love that this weekend is so full of fun things for us. I love that we’ll be making our way to the cottage for one evening tonight and the plan includes making a quiche at some point. I love our little cottage, though it isn’t really little, more like cozy. I love that if we changed nothing it would be perfect, and that we keep making plans to change things and that would make it perfect, and that if we make changes or not it will always be the perfect place to get away to. I love that I am pondering turning the bunkie into a studio and who knows what might be done there. I love that I cannot ever decide whether to spend my time writing or reading and usually default to whatever is the easiest at the time because I am inherently lazy when it comes to decision making.
Today I love reading recipes. I love that last night I won my match up at the curling rink and that I didn’t have to sleep on the couch because of it, even though that possibility was always there 😉 I love that that last thing about sleeping on the couch was just a joke, but I did win and I did come home with the person I won against and we did what we always do, talked over the whole evening and how much fun we had.
Today I love drinking coffee near the fire while we plan the next part of our day.
