Today I Love This Soft, Sweet Dawn

dawn with crescent moon
The dance of the spheres

Today I love this soft sweet dawn that was brought along by the rising crescent moon. I love that the moon was so huge when I first saw it low on the horizon this morning. I love how it gently settled down in size as it rose above the magnification of the atmosphere’s curved edge as if to stand aside for the entrance of the day’s light. I love the choreography of the dance of the spheres and must assumeĀ  that their music really is beyond sublime. I love that the poor earthly music that we make here on this planet is enough to burst my heart sometimes and so I accept that the music of the sphere’s is beyond my comprehension at this time. I love this planet’s beauty and I love the part it plays in the dance of the spheres, with it’s seasons swinging in perfect time to the beat of the pulsing universe. I love the way the clouds are now highlighting the sky with brilliant glowing golden orange and white puffs in the perfectly contrasting blue. I love that I spent a great deal of time admiring a 360 degree image of the surface of Mars and thinking that its orange/yellow sky was very surreal in its beauty, and that it would be an amazing thing to see some day if I ever got the chance, but that I wouldn’t want to stay there and spend my life longing for the skies of Earth.

Today I love that we have a tree that is covered in decorations including glass balls that remind me of the ones I used to hang on my tree long ago in another life. I love that memories of that life come back to me often and have grown to be softer, easier and less painful to miss. I love that I am encouraged to remember and talk about those days and that makes it easier for me to embrace these days and celebrate them as well and as much.

Today I love cooking adventures that end up as treasures in the fridge that will feed us through the week. I love that today I will be going to visit the Mayor in his office and we’ll be recording a little segment for my next radio show. I love how much fun I’m having with that. I love that so many things are on the go these days and I love how so many things are working out.

Today I love drinking coffee by the tree once again and remembering this morning’s dawn and the part played by the crescent moon.

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
