Today I love the Kemble Christmas parade that some of my fellow dragon boaters and I will be participating in. I love that I call us the Dragoneers and that they are stuck with that name, ’cause I’m never going to stop saying Dragoneers! I love that we will have our sturdy little boat’s head and tail with us. I love that we all pondered having the boat there briefly, but the parade is non-motorized and we aren’t dragers we’re Dragoneers! I love fun words and even words that aren’t fun until they keep company with certain other words, for instance there’s not as much fun in Chipits or Chiapets as there is in saying those two words together and pondering their linguistic connections. I love that some words mean completely different things to me than their definitions indicate, for instance when I say someone is crazy, it is a compliment directed to their abilities in a certain area, what everyone else calls crazy is what I refer to as ready to be helped. I love when my mind wanders down wordy trails, I never come back from those trips without feeling refreshed. I love that there are times when I feel like I wandered down one of those trails many years ago and have not returned yet … and maybe never will.
Today I love that we attended the symphony last night and that was a wonderful thing. I love how much fun our symphony orchestra is. I love that there seems to be no end to the variety of live music available in this little city but I am willing to volunteer to search for that end and I’m dedicating my life to that pursuit. I love living in a place where I know members of almost every musical group, collective, and ensemble and the orchestra is no exception. I love that my world is a musical and word filled place of laughter and joy most of the time.
Today I love eggs cooked sunny side up. I love toast made from good market bread. I love homemade jam. I love long cool drinks of water when I have been focused on something and suddenly realize I’m very thirsty. I love finding my way through life one day, one word, one song, one meal at a time. I love living on the leading edge of a wave of laughter and joy and love itself. I love how love begets love, a cascade of well wishing and well being and life.
Today I love sipping coffee out of Sunday morning coffee bowls in bed and thinking about all the things there are to love in just one day.
