Today I love getting better and healing. I love that my index finger on my fretting hand is feeling fine and is only a little stiff. I love how my shoulder twinges when I don’t stretch it before I go curling, love that one of these days it’s going to remind me and I’ll start remembering it before and not after. I love how our down town is like a Christmas movie set these days and nights. I love that the market was swarming with happy people today and that there was so much to do downtown. I love that we got everything we went out for, all the food and breakfast as well. I love that we walked main street and saw Christmas and holiday crafts at a show, looked in at the yarn shop and were able to resist temptation there, stopped in to look at new boots and get the old ones fixed, and then hung out with the local writers who were published this year at the local book store/publisher/cafĂ©. I love this creative and cheerful town and all the wacky, wild and wonderful folks in it. I love being a part of this community. I love that there are people who can be teased and who will give it right back in jovial, and good natured ways.
Today I love that there is grocery shopping to be done yet and that means planning meals. I love that the symphony is on the list of things to do today, attend it, not perform in it, luckily for the other symphony goers. I love that there are so many things going on that I want or need to attend and I love that I can’t get to them all because that is a mark of the wealth of this town and its culture. I love how I managed to finish up my radio show in time to get to the Bleeding Carrot for the open mic yesterday.
Today I love market bread. I love tapioca pudding and the name from when I was a child, fish-eyes tapioca, though I love the name pearl tapioca also, there’s something more suave and sophisticated about that one. I love that the sun is shining and there is no snow falling at the moment so the driveway doesn’t need to be cleaned out … yet. I love good boots and good mitts and a good hat and coat, love to put them on and head out into the great out doors and laugh in the teeth of inclement weather, though I also love good weather too.
Today I love sipping coffee as the aroma of it fills my dreaming thoughts and the day offers a roulette wheel of possible weather outcomes.
