Today I Love Yesterday’s Great Accomplishments

Weather on the street
Let it come

Today I love yesterday’s great accomplishments, today’s big plans, and tomorrow’s wonderful potentials. I love that, although I did not get everything that I wanted to do done yesterday, I did get a busload of things finished and I realize that I actually had two busloads of things on my list which was kind of over the top really. I love that I got a job done for a client, got the laundry done (except for folding and my clothes don’t actually like to be forced to constrain themselves to some straight edged standard), got a small plumbing job done at home, swapped a couple of receptacles for ones with USB ports built in, made supper, wrote two posts, moved some furniture to make room for the tree, and a little bit of IT work as well. I love that today I am in my Wednesday office and working away on all the usual things I do on Wednesday’s here in the café. I love that tomorrow there is a good chance that even more amazing things will get done in the house along with the stuff I usually do on Thursdays. I love how my week almost always just rolls on through and when it is done it makes itself inconspicuous so as not to distract me from what still lies ahead.

Today I love that tonight we’ll be practicing our performances for the big day long broadcast on the radio station where our show usually airs. I love that I’m not going to sing this year because I want to tell a story and it is a story that I love to tell about a Christmas long ago in my childhood. I love this story because it brings memories of my mother back to life for me. I love that there will be music and I will probably get to help with that. I love that among other things we will be singing our theme song that was written by our friend and former show host, the late great Ted Rusk.

Today I Love phones that get swapped easily for unbroken ones. I love that the organization of the kitchen/dining room began in earnest last night. I love that although I’m feeling somewhat chewed up and spit out, I’m still going, small cough and all. I love tapioca pudding, especially the one called “pearl” or “fish eyes,” mmmmmm. I love that no one knows my heart completely but that someone comes pretty close to that and that makes life a wonderful thing.

Today I love drinking coffee once again in my Wednesday, café office while the weather just keeps on weathering out there.

Today I Love Yesterday’s Great Accomplishments

Kelly Babcock

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better. I write two blogs here at Psych Central, one about having ADHD and one that is a daily positive affirmation that acts as an example of finding the good in as much of my life as I possibly can.
