Today I love that moment between night and morning when the edge of the sky is bright and cheerful and yet the streetlights are still on. I love how easy it is for me to see beauty in any weather. I love how much I want to share that beauty and I love that some people see it when I share it with them. I love these fresh chilled mornings before winter rolls in here to redecorate for this part of the earth’s well deserved rest. I love the mess of the leaves in the yard and I love that I am ready, as soon as we get some drying time, to mulch those leaves up and leave them there. Leaving leaves is me playing a perfect role in the way of the world, it is in leaves’ destiny to be left. I love that there are new snow tires on the car and they seem to be really good at gripping so if the snow they are forecasting for tomorrow comes along on schedule those tires will be used well. I love that I popped outside to take a picture and I’m happy to write in the great room by the fire place. I love that “The Great Room” is a small in-house joke about our smaller living room.
Today I love getting ready for a musical Friday. I love that my friend Dave will be joining me at the TV studio for a taping of Our Community Stage. I love that Dave has been a supporter of the Friday Open Mic for years and I love that that open mic is still going on. I love that the radio shows I do are becoming a more comfortable activity for me and I’m starting to like the episodes I create. I love that I am aaaaaaalmost caught up on my run sheets and will be as of an hour from now.
Today I love my fleecy plaid lumberjack shirt, even if it isn’t in traditional colors. I love that I still get to wear my worn out clothes when we go to the cottage, ’cause that stuff is like a security blanket. I love that I have two favorite T-shirts that are full of holes that I can’t wear anywhere and that I can’t throw out ’cause they’re just too much fun to wear. I love peaches and blueberries in my porridge. I love crowds of people and I love solitude and I’m okay with either one, but I’m best in the company of one in the living room with laughter and talk and small joys to occupy my life.
Today I love coffee in the great room while the night gives way to day.
