Today I love determined people that show up in our lives all ready to do their part in this world. I love people who know when they need to go easy on themselves, know that if they take the time to gather their strength then they’ll be that much more help to the world when they come roaring back. I love that positive people teach positive lessons. I love cheerful determined souls that can move any situation forward. I love when those people are the ones you least expect to be able to do that and I really love when I recognize that someone is that person in a group that doesn’t notice that they’d fall apart if not for that one person. I love the ones who push forward when they are certain of their destiny, despite the misgivings others may have. I love the ones who may have doubts but never show them, not because they are trying to be brave or fearless, but because they know that no one has time for that, least of all the people they care about. I love the ones that get up and go every day and only their closest peeps know they are pushing themselves very hard to get the success that they achieve.
Today I love the rainy, windy autumn scape that is my vista from the front porch. I love sitting under the porch roof and writing while the rain drums down on leaves and driveways and roofs and lawns, trickling into gutters and rattling down drainpipes. I love that it is a warm enough day to do this today. I love being bundled up in hut boots and my crocheted poncho and breathing in the rich, sweet, humid and cool, outdoor air. I love the scattered mess of leaves on the front lawn, though I suspect I’ll have to cut that lawn one more time this year.
Today I love writing in American even when I have to work to remember to leave out all the extra U’s and not say eavestrough and stuff like that. I love that I often slip back into Canadian English and my American spell checker catches stuff for me. I love being bi-lingual. 😉 I love that I got new receptacles for the house and the cottage that have built in USB plugs and that they will soon be installed in several key places.
Today I love drinking hot mugs of steaming coffee out in the gusting wild autumn air while the rain pounds down around my oasis of a front porch.
