Today I love being determined to get through my day even though I’m feeling a bit out of sorts and thick headed, like maybe some bug is coming at me. I love that when I’m sick it shows me how determined I can be, love that as I recover, all the things that I do get easier and I feel like life is twice as good as it was before I was unwell. Today I love that I will do all the big things on my list and hopefully a lot of the little ones. I love that last night I learned that we are all made up of four parts, the physical part, the emotional part, the intellectual part, and the spirit (not a religious thing) and that when I heard this I immediately recognized how healthy my spirit is, and how much that health owes to this practice of affirming my love for life and community, people and world. I love that loving things, good or bad, encourages me to find the best of everything. I love that loving people for specific reasons encourages me to seek out the best in people and reinforce that in them. I love that every person has something worth salvaging, and that the thing worth salvaging in every person is likely their spirit.
Today I love that I’m off to the TV studio to host yet another episode of Our Community Stage and I’m looking forward to this one because my friend David Hawkins is going to be the star of the show and he’s a fun and funny guy with an amazing musical talent. I love that I get to do this show because in a small way I get to support my musical community and give back as thanks for them taking me in when I kind of just appeared on the scene a few years ago. I love the community of artists this town has and how we all enjoy the passionate power of the well of talent that is obvious in every one of these artistic spirits living here.
Today I love the laundry running reassuringly away with an impromptu Friday load that will no doubt make Laundry Tuesday an easier day. I love that my hair is braided and ready to go for the day. I love that there is someone in my life who braids my hair for me. I love that tonight is open mic night and curling night. I love the fun I’m having skipping my own team, and that we haven’t won a game yet but we’ve only ever lost by one point so we’re in the hunt and have managed a solid second place in every match up. I love that the weather forecast is calling for a snowy weekend so we get to test out the new snow tires for reelz!
Today I love drinking coffee in the big old recliner while I steel myself to get through this day of thick-headed, itchy eyed malaise and into the sweet days of feeling better, though I do hope those days show up this afternoon, that would be great.
