Today I love this wet old Tuesday, simmering coldly in its mid-week way and never giving in to the call of Monday to be Mondayish at all, even though it’s my first day of the work week. I love that we were going to get things done on the weekend and though we got lots of things done, we also got to do a lot of things here in our little city that we’d been looking forward to. Today I love that my stiff neck feels like it might be loosening up today, though it still hurts to move it quickly. I love that I never talk much about the pain I’m in except when it is getting better, ’cause, damn that pain all to hell if it thinks I’m going to waste any of my breath grumbling about it! I love finding things to love about things that seem unlovable. I love that Tuesday is laundry day and I especially love that I got it started yesterday before I hit the road and had a load done by the time I went to bed last night, so long as you don’t count folding as part of being done. ;P I love the quiet rumbling sound of the washing machine taking care of business in the next room.
Today I love that it is Dragon Boat Team night and that, although the boat is out and put away, we’re going to meet for one last evening and socialize. I love that it looks like we’ll have almost a “full boat” at our meet up tonight. I love that there will be people there talking about wishing it were spring so we could get the boat out and put it in the bay again. I love going out with good friends. I love people who love the water.
Today I love how good the rhubarb crumble is, how great it is to have it in premeasured servings, and how well made it is. I love people who have innovative ideas and then pull them off like they were nothing. I love kitchen magic and the people who are capable of it. I love that it is my turn today and part of my magic trick will be to clean up, although the magician who made the crumble on the weekend did a fair bit of cleaning already, and that’s worth some love.
Today I love slowly sipping coffee while the laundry hums and the writing gets done and the day wraps its Tuesdayishness around my world.
