Today I Love The First Snow

Spring is always coming …

Today I love the first snow of this season that I’ve seen. I love how a sense of foreboding builds until it happens and then there is a release as I accept that it has happened and that it is a sure sign that winter will come and go again. I love that I spent the evening last night at the rink with some new curlers who were watching some seasoned curlers and asking questions. I love that I could answer their questions and hopefully they will be ready for their first game on Friday night. I love that I will be warming up for Friday night by curling on Thursday night, filling in for another curler who can’t make it to the rink for their game. I love how quickly we transitioned from dragon boating to curling and I love that curling will last until the weather starts to change back again. I love this land I live in and I love how we have things to do all year round. I love how full my life has become, without becoming overwhelming. I love that I have reached a point where I can do things that need doing and still have time for things that are enjoyable and I truly love that most of the things that need doing are also enjoyable in their own way.

Today I love that I drove through a bit of snow and then a bit of rain and then just some drizzle at the end in order to get to my Wednesday office. I love that my Wednesdays have a structure to them that comforts me. I love that there is a list of things that I schedule for Monday and those things fit perfectly into a damp and chilly day in a warm café. I love I feel quite at home here. I love that I am happy with my life the way it is, but am still looking for work to take on if it happens to come my way.

Today I love making plans to redo the office at home so that it is more efficient. I love that I am steeling myself to purge stuff so that there is more room in our house and maybe in our cottage as well. I love that we figured out the kayak storage solution and it was right there all along. I love when solutions are just new ways of thinking.

Today I love drinking coffee in the Wednesday, café office while I check all the Wednesday, café things off my to do list.

I was born in the city of Toronto in 1959, but moved when I was in my fourth year of life. I was raised and educated in a rural setting, growing up in a manner I like to refer to as free range. I live in an area where my family history stretches back 6 or more generations. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 50 and have been both struggling with the new reality and using my discoveries to make my life better.
