Today I love this Friday’s wild windy ways. I love the warm air and the clear, clean blue sky that is the canvass for the scudding, flowing clouds. I love that the wind woke me in the night and I got up to see the light show to the south of us and listen to the lightnings thunderous rumblings from so far away that they all seemed to roll into one long drawn out roar as if it were the noise of a highway just over a sound barrier. I love when the night calls me to bear witness to the strength of nature, to listen to her songs and see her quick sketches of power. I love that wild weather is Mother Nature’s original incarnation of Snap Chat, watch closely ’cause it’ll be gone in a moment. I love that we are but mimics and the world is both our stage and our inspiration. I love that every invention that has ever come about has been nothing more than an assemblage of discoveries. We are mere puzzlers who fit things together until we assemble something amazing and then we take the credit. I love that, credit where it is due, some of us are good assemblers and worthy of respect and some of us are actually brilliantly amazing at it and worthy of the fame they have acquired along the way.
Today I love that my mind seems to be able to slip easily from pillar to post, from point to detail to item and back this morning, though I’m fairly certain that will not stand me in good stead on my next task. 😉 I love that I may just turn that around and make it work for me anyway. I love that I get to write as part of the means with which I support my addictions to food and clothing and shelter and coffee. I love that I will be exhausted by day’s end as I have a list as long as my arm of things that need doing today. I love how comforting it is to know I am of use here in this world.
Today I love late night yogurt eaten hours after my antibiotics are taken. I love that it is open mic day at 4PM at the Bleeding Carrot and I love that even though it hasn’t been busy the last few weeks we still do it because it’s the most fun. I love that I can set up that gear in my sleep. I love that my own gear is almost identical so every time I set up there it’s like I’m practicing for my own shows.
Today I love sipping coffee on the front porch with the warm and balmy wind gusting all around my little world.
