Today I love the mighty road, the way it tests me, wears me down yet hones me to a fine edge, strengthens me at the same time that it shows me my weaknesses and what I need to work on to continue to survive. I love that I drove well over 300 miles already today and I still need to get home when I’m done working here. I love that home is only 25 miles away. I love driving, though I also love to ride as a passenger ’cause then I can look around at all the stuff that I’m passing. I love that I was able to hit the road today and not worry about all the things I’ve had on the go lately.
Today I love that Summerfolk43 was a great success as far as I’m concerned and that Afterfolk01 is coming up on Friday. I love that Afterfolk01 is my new nick name for the show, Shawna Caspi, Live @ the Cottage. I love that it looks like this show is close to capacity attendance, which is pretty good for a first effort. I love that capacity is denoted by the fact that there is limited parking at the cottage which strikes me as the funniest and yet most real reason to limit attendance.
Today I love that I intend to get some serious rest tonight and have no ambitions to waking up any earlier than seven o’clock, and certainly not before six and absolutely not at five-thirty! I love that tear down at Summerfolk went really well even though it rained, and we had a little mishap with one load on the flatbed, and it really rained, and then it rained some more. I love how there is Summerfolk and it has a character of its own, and then there is Summerfolk construction and it has a whole different character. I love that I don’t have to volunteer for Summerfolk construction next year, but there’s a good chance that I’ll show up and help out a bit anyway. I love that some things I was missing have come back to me and though I had resigned myself to them being gone, and though I was okay with that, having them back is pretty nice. I love that the nice is enhanced by the fact that they came from a direction that I hope will continue to be an open road, because open roads are mighty roads.
Today I love drinking coffee from my worn down, beat up thermal coffee mug on the road and in the big city and then on the road again and then in my Wednesday office and soon, hopefully, back on the road again on my way home to bed.
