Today I love passion that leads people to the things they were meant to do, the friends they were meant to have, and the lovers they were meant to know. I love how it permeates much of our art and I love that this is the reason that we need art, to assure ourselves of the good in life and the reasonableness of being passionate about that good. I love how it can be cultivated in all things, how passion can make us better at what we do. I love when I realize that I am passionate about something I’ve been doing, and when I find the joy and love that has driven that passion and recognize the thing and the passion and the joy and the love as the wonderful things they are. I love that I am driven by many things, but the common denominator in all those things is passion. I love that there are things that generate small passions in me, and things that generate tidal waves of passion that wash over me in undeniably crushes of force that I can only immerse myself in and let happen. I love when many passions turn out to be parts of one titanic, gigantic, Holly crap, brobdingnagian passion.
Today I love that I learned that brobdingnagian is a real word that my spell checker had never heard of any more than I had. Today I love [right-click], [add to dictionary] and that my dictionary includes a most eclectic list of words that make me smile and laugh. I love that words and smiling and laughing make for the cream on top of my wonderful life that is made up of love and passion and any time that the people who are important to me can spare for just chatting or whatever. I love that I will be trying to slip brobdingnagian into conversations for the next foreseeable future and I hope that there are many, brobdingnagian chances to do that.
Today I love fried breakfast with all the stuff that’s supposed to be there. I love sunny days and happy drives to see fun people. I love that I have a truck and though it burns a whole lot of gas I love that when we have to do it, we can move stuff that doesn’t fit in cars. I love Mac & Cheese and the way it takes me home to my mother’s kitchen and my grandmother’s kitchen as well since I still use the same recipe they handed down to me.
Today I love coffee in my travel mug and lots of it for the road.
