Today I love determined hearts that stride forward through their lives and pursue what they want to have in their lives with tenacious passion. I love that the more I seek to gather real people around me the more determined hearts I find in the circle of my social family. I love finding people who fit that description. I love how many people I know that have that potential, who have the ability to seek what they want in their lives and the spirit to take hold of it when it’s within reach and hold on tightly. I love that I am now doing that myself. I love seizing the moment, the day, the year, this life, this love. I love my life these days, even the ones that start at 5:30 and involve rushing through important things to get to other important things. I love how much effort I’m putting into my life, because in the end it’s the effort that we remember, the time we did this, the day we tried that, the week we spent making that other thing happen. I love that my biggest problem is keeping track of all that I’ve done, and I love that sometimes I just sit back and try to remember it all and even that is an enjoyable task.
Today I love that last night at Summerfolk we got to see some wonderful music again, and this year has not been a disappointment in any way. I love that Fred Penner got up on stage with Rose Cousins when she asked for people to join her as a backup choir and he just wandered up as one does when one is famous and someone else who is famous suggests that they need some help on stage. I love that Rose said that that was the biggest moment of her life. I love the way that people at folk festivals seem more like family, that there seems to be no line drawn between artist and audience but rather an arbitrary distinction afforded by the fact that one is facing the other and the other is facing back and there is a conversation of sharing going on.
Today I love funnel cakes that are way too good to be unhealthy and therefore should probably have their own food group and be included in the dietary requirements of all people. I love that we continue with our road trips and adventures and entertainment activities. I love that Shawna Caspi is coming to town next week to be on my show and to be interviewed and then she has agreed to play a show for us and some friends at the cottage on Friday night.
Today I love being bolstered up by coffee while the sun rises through hazy fog and mist into the full on existence of a perfect Sunday.
