Today I love the lazy moon that puts no effort into trying to align itself with night time and is just as likely to show up at 8:30 in the morning and say, “You wanted me here when?” I love how it just hangs around near lamp posts waiting for anyone to notice it, but it doesn’t really care if you do or you don’t. I love that it has learned the luxury of leisure, the richness of recumbency, and shows us the value of a vacation attitude whenever it pleases. I love that the lethargic moon can’t be bothered to even argue these points with me today because it’s on its way over the horizon to escape the heat of the day leaving us here to remember it while we wilt. I love the cool moon, wandering around the world looking for a good time and just drifting from day to night to day at its own pace and on its own calendar. I love that the moon has long been associated with lunacy and yet it doesn’t care about the stigma of such an association. I love that loonie old moon, what will it think of to do next? Probably nothing, just drift away behind some trees and wander off ’til it feels like coming back again.
Today I love that last night we had a great paddle up the river in the dragon boat, I love the way that boat can move when every one is paddling in time and doing their best. I love the feel of that boat moving under my feet when the water has a bit of chop and the crew doesn’t care and we just tame the wind and the waves and head straight into it. I love that people love to paddle and that I get to be part of giving them that opportunity. I love that our boat’s name is Póg Mo Thóin and that its name is on the back in plain view of those we’re ahead of.
Today I love being in my Wednesday office doing my Wednesday work. I love that some of it is writing. I love that most of what I do involves information getting into other people’s hands in an entertaining way. I love that entertaining is something I love to do, and something I strive to be. I love that there were fresh strawberries in the oatmeal today. I love that the morning was cool enough to give hope and though the day will be a warm one the memory of the morning’s fresh start will help to mitigate the day’s abuses.
Today I love drinking my coffee in my Wednesday office while bidding adieu to that lazy loonie moon.
