Today I love resting up from the weekend. I love the relaxing pace of the work week and the chance to relax and regenerate and recover and recreate and resurge and all those other applicable “re” words. I love how hectic and fun the weekend was and how sore I feel because it is a good sore and a good tired and my mind feels like it is ready for this week and all the things I need to do before next weekend. I love that whether I look at it as resting up through the week and working hard on the weekend or whether I think of it as working hard through the week and relaxing on the weekend, either way I am busy on both occasions and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love that things are coming together for the TV show that I’ll be hosting in the autumn and we’ve already shot a couple of episodes for that. I love that I’ll be guest hosting a radio show on occasion and I’m looking forward to that as well. I love that just when I think I’m getting too busy a voice in the back of my head says, “If you’ve got time to think that, you have time to do something else!” and something else that I’d love to do comes along and presents itself.
Today I love that we will be paddling tonight and if the weather holds we will likely make for the other river here in town by way of the outer harbor and the Kelso beach area and that will be another adventure for this season checked off the list. I love that we have had a full boat twice in the past four weeks and have had so many new paddlers that I’m excited for the season this year. I love that I am biding my time before trying my hand at coaching, I know I have all the skills for it but I don’t have a coaching plan ready yet, and I want it to be fun enough to keep people interested, hard enough to challenge the ones who want challenge and easy enough to be accessible for the rec paddlers to not get discouraged.
Today I love blue skies. I love breezes that are feather light. I love the soft sweet smells of spring blooming everywhere. I love that it is still more than a week until Summer tumbles in with all her luggage and says, “I’ve come to stay for a while, let’s all go to the beach, ‘kay?”
Today I love drinking coffee in my front porch office under a perfect spring sky.
