Today I Love How Easy Yesterday Was
Today I love the sun painting the back of the clouds in the sky with it’s image so that it shines through for us to see. I love how easy yesterday was to get through. I love that we spent the day reorganizing the kitchen because that’s the true spirit of the holidays, right? Doing something together that is important to both of you even if it is a bit of a draggy activity, and laughing and making it a fun thing. I love that, even though the “step stool of death” tried to take me out at least once that I’m sure of, I am still here and it has been beaten by my ballet like grace and skill, my gymnast like flexibility, and my super balancing powers. I love that yesterday I had the time to go blow out the driveway of a friend who needed to get to her Christmas day. I love how us missing a Family gathering because of the weather at least allowed us to help someone else get where they needed to be by doing battle with that same weather that thought it had defeated us. Ha! I love that we watched some great traditional and culturally important TV and I love how every time I see the Grinch I see things that I didn’t remember from before.
Today I love that the plan is to clean up the reorganized kitchen this morning. I love that we’re having leisurely breakfasts this week and they are such a pleasant change from the “Hurry, it’s almost time for work!” breakfasts that we often have, even though I love those too. I love how nice it is to sit by the fire with a book and not feel like there is someplace else I should be and something else I should be doing. I love that we are “stuck” with four whole pies, but they are all sealed and in the giant walk-in freezer (garage) and will be heading to the same family in just a few days for the birthday celebration we’re going to.
Today I love all the heartfelt greetings that are being shared on the Facebook and on other social media platforms. I love the opportunities that social media provides for doing things like that. I love that, given the chance to write their feelings and edit them so that their words say exactly what they want them to say, so many people are saying so many important things to so many more people. I love how many people have said Merry Christmas to me out on the street over the last couple of days. I love that the snow blower is working well and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it will remain functional.
Today I love drinking coffee in the cool light of a northern sun while the fire keeps me warm.
